He graduated in 1894 from the AAlborg Kathedralskolen with a speciality in
languages and history. He then studied in Koebenhavn for two years to take
the exam for Common Jurisprudence, but says he became ill and had to
discontinue. He then got a job in the Koebenhavn Customs Office for 2 years
while also studying French. He left Copenhagen in Spring 1900 and took
several trips to Sweden and Finland before returning to work in AAlborg as a
translator.
As a translator, he worked as foreign correspondant from 1902 to 1906
for P.F. Buaas' Factories in Alborg and as a language teacher at
Aalborg Technical School and Aalborg Trade School. From February, 1903, he
worked to bring Esperanto, a language developed so that all people could
speak together using a universal language, to Denmark.
In this regard, he published in August 1904 The international Helping Language Esperanto and Esperanto - Danish Norwegian Vocabulary. In 1905, he published Addition(?) to the Enlightenment of the Question of lnternational Language.
In 1902, he was chosen as the Danish representative to the World Congress
in Monaco regarding this language.
ln 1906, he was chosen as secretary for Denmark for this Congress In 1905, he was selected by the Esperatieta Kongressoe as Danish member of the Lingra Komitato.
On April 28, 1906, he established the Esperantoforeningen in Copenhagen.
In August, 1907, he moved to Koebnhavn and continued his work in
languages.
In January 2, 1908, he was chosen as honorarty member of Konversacio Esperantista Klubo in Kbh. In 1909, as president.
On February 12, 1909, he separated from his wife.
On April 7, 1909, he was engaged in Koebenhavn to Frk.Ingeborg Bentzen,
Royal Translator in German, whom he planned to mary in two years.
On March 15, 1910, he travelled to Paris as Secretary for General Sebert and after that to take over the position as Secretary for the Kongressenstionen
during the World Exhibition. His son Preben wrote that he died in an
accident in the mountain |
